Full Throttle - Day 102

Lately I have been feeling a great deal of encouragment in my weight loss. It feels so good when people notice and point out to me that they can tell I am losing weight. It drives me to continue this transformation to know so many people are pulling for me to do this. The encouragment is such a great feeling. I don't want to let anyone down, including myself, so I continue pushing on. I feel like BJ and Kori at Full Throttle Athletics have given me such an amazing gift by training me and taking so much time to help me with my diet and answer all of my questions. They are patient with me, but they push me to do better. I could not ask for 2 better people to train me and help me transform my body and my lifestyle. I am so thankful I found them.
Here is what I ate today:
7:15am - 10 strawberries
7:45am - ProGrade Lean Meal Replacement Drink
11:00am - 22 almonds
1:30pm - chicken breast, 4 cups of spinach
4:00pm - 22 almonds

Full Throttle - Day 101

Well, today begins the next 100 days of my transformation. I am so excited to start this new chapter. I feel like in the first 100 days I proved to myself that I can do something I never expected to be able to do and to stick with something long enough to make it a true habit. This chapter will involve more personal growth and building strength as well as losing fat. I hope to have most of my fat gone in the next 100 days and be working on getting even stronger. I am excited about this next stage of my transformation.
Here is what I ate today:
5:30am - 4 strawberries
7:30am - ProGrade Lean Meal Replacement Drink

Full Throttle - Day 100

Wow, I cannot believe I am at day 100 at Full Throttle Athletics. What a different person I am now from who I was 100 days ago.
100 days ago food and exercise had total different meanings to me.
100 days ago training was something I thought only crazy athletes did.
100 days ago I was fat and so out of shape it was sad.
100 days ago I was headed towards years of unhealthy consequences to my lifestlye.
100 days ago I had no idea how good it would feel to have so much energy.
100 days ago drinking a coke was more than a once or twice a day occurence.
100 days ago I had only the desire to lose weight and lacked the discipline.
100 days ago I only dreamed of seeing the results that I now see.
100 days ago I never thought getting up at 5:00am 3 days a week would be so easy.
100 days ago I never imagined the importance of friendship and accountability to a healthy lifestyle.
100 days ago I weighed almost 50 pounds more than now.
100 days ago I was unhappy with my physical appearance but unwilling to do the work change it.
100 days ago I was the first person to say, "I can't."
100 days ago I was the last person to say, "I can."
100 days ago I started to change.
100 days ago I finally decided to show up and start working out.
100 days ago I nearly passed out 10 minutes in to working out (ok, 5 minutes)
100 days ago was the beginning of a lifelong transformation for me.
100 days from now I will be changed even more.
100 days from now I will be in even better shape.
100 days from now I will be fully proud of my body.
100 days from now I will be an inspiration to others who say "I can't."
100 days from now I will continue to encourage others that they can also do what I have done.
100 days from now I will not stop and be satisfied with where I am.
100 days from now I will be wearing even smaller clothes than now.
100 days from now I will use my story to change lives.
I am ready for 100 more days.... and then 100 more

Full Throttle - Day 99

This morning's training was yet again extremely difficult, but yet again I feel so great when I am done. I started out with deadlifts as I do every morning. However, this time when BJ wrote on the board exactly what I'd be doing, I was surprised to not only see the number of reps so high, but also the weight was higher than I have ever attempted. I did several weights but built up to 285 pounds, and I did 5 reps at 285 pounds. I had never attempted more than 265 pounds, so I was not sure how I would do. I am participating in a Tactical Strength Challenge in September, and my goal is to deadlift at least 315 pounds. After the deadlifting, the workout began. We did 15 squats, 10 pushups, 15 kettlebell swings, and then 10 box jumps. We did as many rounds as possible for 20 minutes, and I was able to complete 8 rounds. So, in 20 minutes I completed 120 squats, 80 pushups, 120 kettlebell swings (using 2 kettlebells), and 80 box jumps. I felt so good when I was done. I then decided this evening to go back to Full Throttle Athletics and pull a weighted sled. I did some arm exercises with the sled as well as some walking and running with the sled. In total I pulled the sled about 1 mile.
Here is what I ate today:
5:30am - 5 strawberries
7:45am - ProGrade Lean Meal Replacement Drink
12:30pm - chicken breast
3:30pm - 22 almonds
6:30pm - chicken breasts with turkey
I drank over 200 ounces of water

Full Throttle - Day 93

Throughout this process I have realized that I have been very observant of other people and body types. I look around at other people, actors on tv and movies, athletes, and all kinds of others and imagine that one day I will be built like those guys. I love imagining what I will look like once I have completed my transformation. Will I have big muscles? Will I be lean? Will I still have some fat rolls? Will I have lots of extra skin? All of these are things I wonder about, and I cannot wait to see which one is accurate... possibly a touch of all of them. I love daydreaming and imagining what I will look like.
Here is what I ate today:
7:45am - ProGrade Lean Meal Replacement Drink
10:45am - 22 almonds
1:30pm - 4 slices of ham wrapped in 2 large lettuce leaves
4:15pm - raw spinach
6:30pm - salad with ranch dressing, small piece of smoked sausage, bacon wrapped chicken
I drank over 150 ounces of water today

Full Throttle - Day 92

This morning I went to weigh-in before beginning my workout, and I have lost 9.5 pounds in the last 10 days... what an amazing feeling!!! I feel like the weight is really coming off lately, and I am continuing to work hard. Today was also the 3 month mark of beginning my training at Full Throttle Athletics. In the 3 months at Full Throttle, I have lost 46 pounds and gained a ton of muscle. I also took some more pictures of myself without a shirt, but I will not post those for a few more months. I am still embarassed to be seen without my shirt on, but in a few months I think I will be confident enough to show the pictures. This morning's training consisted of 10 pushups, 10 pullups, 10 kettlebell swings, over and over as many rounds as possible in 20 minutes. It was a tough workout, and I was able to complete 10 rounds.
Here is what I ate today:
7:30am - ProGrade Lean Meal Replacement Drink
10:30am - 22 almonds, whey protein drink
2:00pm - smoked catfish filet, spinach
6:30pm - 2 eggs, 4 egg whites scrambled with spinach
I drank over 150 ounces of water today

Full Throttle - Days 86 - 91

I have been away from a computer for the past few days working at a convention for work, so I have been unable to blog. The convention was an exciting experience for me because I saw lots of people who have not seen me in several months. It felt so nice to get so many compliments, and I cannot wait to see some of these people again a few months from now when I am even smaller and in better shape. I have been working out at Full Throttle Athletics for 3 months, and I have experienced a huge transformation so far... I can only imagine how much more the change will be in three more months. I was also able to eat fairly healthy while staying in a hotel, which was a fear I had. I am excited to getting back to my routine and getting more pounds off and more muscle on.

Full Throttle - Day 85

This morning's training was good. I am not doing any deadlifts this week, but I am getting more and more excited about competing in a Tactical Strength Challenge on September 5. I am a little nervous because I have never done anything like that, but I am also very excited about doing it. My goal is to deadlift 315 pounds... I am so anxious to know if it is something I will be able to do. By this time next year my goal is to deadlift 500 pounds. The competition gives me something to really strive and work hard for, and I know deadlifting 315 pounds in September is an achievable goal. Today's training consisted of 15 overhead squats, 10 kettlebell swings, 5 kettlebell deadlifts, and then a 300 meter run... as many rounds as possible in 20 minutes. I completed 5 3/4 rounds, and I feel like I worked really hard.
Here is what I ate today:
7:45am - ProGrade Lean Meal Replacement Drink
10:45am - Whey Protein Drink, 22 almonds
2:00pm - smoked catfish filet, spinach
6:00pm - 2 whole eggs, 4 egg whites scrambled with spinach and mushrooms.
I drank over 200 ounces of water today.

Full Throttle - Days 83 and 84

This weekend we went out of town for the weekend. I feel really good about the food choices I made when we had to eat out most meals. I feel like lately I have been really disciplined with my diet, and it is such a good feeling to know that I am eating well. It is also nice to no longer feel the guilt associated with eating unhealthy. As I continue to receive encouragment and see results, it makes it more and more worthwhile to continue my exercise and eating habits. I still find myself daydreaming about the results I will see in the next few months, and that also encourages me to keep going strong.

Full Throttle - Day 82

This morning's workout was incredible as always. I love getting to the point to where I feel so good after I am done working out. I feel like I am able to push myself more each time. We did each exercise for 20 seconds on, then 10 seconds off, 8 rounds, then moved on to the next exercise.

Full Throttle - Day 81

Today a little girl who's parents are good friends of mine saw me for the first time in a few months, and she said, "You look weird. You look different" and then she touched my face... as silly as it was, it made me feel so good to know that my physical changes are that obvious. Several people at work have made comments recently stating that they can really tell a difference. What I love about that is that they are all asking how I am doing it, and they are watching me all the time. So, I know I have to remain disciplined. I feel like lots of people want to see me succeed, and I do not want to let anyone down. I tell everyone I can about Full Throttle Athletics and how BJ and Kori give me advice, support, encouragement, and a good talkin-to when needed. I honestly could not have done this without BJ and Kori and the friends I have made at Full Throttle Athletics. However, I also know I still have a long way to go, and I will continue to work hard to keep losing weight and getting stronger.
Here is what I ate today:
7:30am - ProGrade Lean Meal Replacement Drink
10:30am - 22 almonds, whey protein drink
1:00pm - chicken, spinach
6:30pm - smoked sausage link
I drank over 150 ounces of water

Full Throttle - Day 80

I weighed myself this morning to see how much weight I lost in June. I lost a total of 22 pounds in June, and I have now lost 37 pounds total since beginning at Full Throttle Athletics on April 13. What an amazing month. I have worked really hard this month and tried to eat as well as I could, and I can see that is paid off. Today I went in at 5:45am for my deadlift training, in which I am doing a few more reps lately. After the deadlifts and warmups, our training consisted of circuits of 40 seconds with 20 second breaks between each one, and we did five rounds of the following: pushups, ring rows, hand to hand kettlebell swings, and squats. It was a great workout.
Here is what I ate today:
7:45am - ProGrade Lean Meal Replacement Drink
10:45pm - 22 almonds
12:45pm - chicken breast
6:15pm - 2 whole eggs, 4 egg whites scrambled with spinach and mushrooms
9:15pm - 2 cups of spinach
I drank over 150 ounces of water today
